Société Impériale et Centrale d'Horticulture (Imperial and central society of Horticulture)

History :
- 1827: creation of the Society of Horticulture of Paris essentially constituted, in its beginning, by experienced amateurs. It became The Royale society of Horticulture of France in 1835.

- 1841: creation of a second society, The Club of the Horticultural Conferences, constituted rather of professionals, transformed into National Society of Horticulture of the Seine.

- 1854: fusion of these two societies, under the name of Imperial and central Society of Horticulture.

- 1885: recognized of public utility in 1855, it becomes the Society of Horticulture of France.

- This society always exists.

" Imperial and central Society of Horticulture. This society, the head of which is in Paris, street of the Abbey, 3, takes charge of all which is concerning the perfecting of the agriculture and concerning the improvement of its products. It includes eight sections and consists of fifty two common members or residents, distributed between eight sections. It has associates and correspondents by quite France and abroad chosen among the people who made experiments or practical observations, or who are the authors of works considered useful on the rural economy. It publishes a monthly bulletin of its works, and every year, a volume of Reports and Instructions."
