Imperial decree of December 2nd, 1852, which promulgates and declares State law the sénatus - consults of November 7th, 1852, ratified by the plebiscite of November 21st and 22nd.

Seen the sénatus - consults, on November 7th, 1852, which subjects to the people the plebiscite by which the content follows:
" The people want the restoring of the imperial dignity in the person of Louis Napoleon Bonaparte, with heredity in his direct, justifiable or adopted descent, and gives right to him to adjust the hereditary order in the throne in the family Bonaparte, as well as it is foreseen by the sénatus - consult of November 7th, 1852. "

Seen the declaration of the legislative Body which notices:
That the operations of the vote were everywhere freely and regularly performed;
That the general inventory of the votes emitted on the project of plebiscite gave seven millions eight hundred and twenty four thousand hundred eighty-nine ( 7 824 189 ) bulletins stating the word yes;
Two hundred and fifty three thousand hundred and forty five ( 253 145 ) bulletins stating the word no;
Sixty three thousand three hundred and twenty six ( 63 326 ) worthless bulletins;

Decreed and decree what follows:

First article :
- The sénatus-consults of November 7th, 1852, ratified by the plebiscite of November 21st and 22nd, is promulgated and becomes State law.

Article 2 :
- Louis-Napoleon Bonaparte is Emperor of French under the name of Napoleon III
