It is certainly about the bridge of Galata on the Golden Horn ( Halic) which connects the ancient city of Istanbul with new one. The crossing of the bridge was made for a long time by the coin. But the passengers often had no coins and that slowed down the passages. It was decided to set up a system of token. The toll did not last for a long time.
